Keep Your Glass Shower Looking New Longer !!

If you are the lucky owner of a glass shower like me, you should know that to keep your shower looking great and to prevent any leak from happening in the future, it's highly recommended that you repair and seal all your grout joints at least every 2 years !!

Theses types of showers are definitely bringing another look to any bathroom, therefore they have to be maintained frequently, otherwise they will fall apart and they may even start leaking into your walls and ceilings !! There are some things that I've even learned at my own expenses and that is why I am sharing this post so it doesn't happen to anybody else !!

1. If you have marble trims and even tiles, please don't use any of theses Kaboom and CLR for bathroom  to clean up the soap scum from your walls !! I used it in my shower once to get rid of the soap buildup easily, but it says clearly on the container not to use on porous surfaces like marble !! My tempered glass also started to loosen up because the product altered the joint between the marble and the glass !!

2.  If your grout joints in your shower are starting to fall soften up or fall apart, I strongly advise that you use a carbide knife to gently remove the bad joints, to re-grout them and to seal them !! Grouting is not that hard you simply mix the grout (not to liquid) to the perfect consistency and with a cheap rubber float fill all the empty joints !! After you have to gently wipe the excess grout with a wet (not soaked) sponge !!

3. Sealing the joints is a very important step that can't be neglected !! If you one of theses division houses, chances are that they never did seal the grout joints in your shower anyways, so I would get to it asap !! If the shower was built with porous tiles like marble I would seal them as well with at least 2 coats !!

4. The last thing to do would be to silicone the entire inside of the shower without forgetting the four corners all (the way to the top), around the shower faucet and toe tester, and the most important spot the bottom of the shower !! The bottom of the shower is crucial because if the water was to find his way behind the grout, it could climb at least 3 to 4 inches outside the pan by capillarity, that's why we can't neglect any flat surfaces even the corner of the threshold at the door !!

Hope it would save some families from flooding their living room !! Any questions please feel free to ask !!
