This might draw the attention of a lot more customers towards Dewalt table saws !! One of the main reason why I chose a Ridgid portable table saw over the older Dewalt Model was that it would rip 24" over 16" for the Dewalt !! A lot of customers that I've worked for in the past few years were always torn between the idea of building a composite or a conventional wood deck in their backyard !!  I know that most of the composite decking companies would do anything to sell their product to the customers !! Saying things like it's longer lasting than wood, won't fade, no more staining, more durable, better look and faster installation !! I will never try to stop a customer from buying composite decking, but I will definitely put the pros and cons before we start to make sure that they've weighted in all their options !!  The huge difference between the wood and composite is the price !! Even if you had a great deal on the materials, you can expect to pay at leas 4 to 6 times more for composite that standard pressure treated !!  Also some people want a surface that is clean, won't rot, is easier to clean and that they won't have apply stain !! As I mentioned in one of my previous post, AEG is the twin version of RIDGID power tool in Europe !! The only difference is that they don't offer a lifetime service agreement with their power tool system which sucks for them !!! And the reason why I had to talk about them again is because I just found out that it's only a matter of time before RIDGID also brings out his own version of the 18V Brushless Hammer Drill !! I keep on seeing tons of videos on youtube about Dewalt vs Makita and Dewalt vs Bosch torque challenge and it's get me sick to see the Dewalt winning most of the time !! I'm a carpenter and I've tried Hitachi, Milwaukee, Bosch, Hilti, Metabo, Makita and Dewalt (which I was a fan of for few years for cordless drills), but now I stick to Ridgid for lifetime warranty and reliability reasons !! My last two cordless drills were 18 volt Dewalt and they both died on me within a year and a half and the last one died on me drilling a 2 1/8" hole for a door handle into cedar !! For thoses who know cedar is a really soft wood !! Dewalt drills might deliver a lot of torque, but they got no brain, if you overwork them they WILL absolutely fail you !! Makita came out with a 36V adapter that would allow the user to get full 36V capacity with his 18V battery system using 2 battery pack side by side !! It's a pretty clever idea !! Recently I had a customer asking me about moisture problem in her basement and what could be done to fix it !!  Her basement was properly finished few years ago with a foam under pad, Dri Core substrate and laminate flooring . She called me and told me that she had to rip it all up because they found the equivalent of 6 liters of water coming from underneath the sub floor towards the furnace room drain !! When people call me about these kind of issues and ask me what to do, the first thing I tell them is not to panic and to take a step back before tearing everything apart too quickly !! There are few reasons that can cause water in a basement, but not all of them are dramatic !! The most critical is the foundation wall water infiltration !! This type of problem can be fixed from the inside or the outside of your house, but my favorite way of seeing it been taken care of is from the outside and I will explain why !!
