Portable Table Saws !!
A table saw is a very important tool to own if you are a professional woodworker, a serious DIY or just someone who likes to work around his house !!
As a professional re-modeler I own a portable table saw, because I need to be able to carry it easily from a job to another and to set it up almost anywhere !! Theses particular tools have come a long way in the last few years and many name brand offers some lightweight, powerful and accurate models !! Some of theses saws have became insanely accurate !!
For most people the price of the most important factor when comes time to purchase a tool of this importance, but I tend to remind any of you that table saw has to be accurate, safe, powerful and reliable !! Keeping in mind that you get what you pay for and that you would rather work with a safe and sturdy saw than to lose your fingers, it's definitely a good idea to pay a little extra knowing you'll get your money's worth !!
Here are my three favorite picks taking in consideration weight, size, rip capacity and price !!
#1 Ridgid/Craftsman
The reason why theses two table saws are coming both in first position is that they are pretty much the same exact tool with the exception that the Craftsman has a slightly different transport handle and that Ridgid tools are guaranteed for life !! But even though they are a little bit heavier and bulkier than the Dewalt and the Bosch table saw with their 68lbs, they are priced reasonably and they both offer a solid right extension table to enable you to rip strips of material of up to 24 inches !! They've thought of adding a carrying handle and a set of wheels so you don't break your back trying to carry them around !! The motor is powerful and the miter gauge and the rip fence are also solid and very accurate !! They both offer convenient on-board storage to hold mitre gauge, push stick, blade wrenches and power cord so you can carry that tool around hassle free !!
#2 Bosch
Knowing Bosch power tools you can't come to expect anything else than well engineered and powerful tools !! This is exactly what this latest table saw is all about !! Bosch made this table saw so compact and balanced that you can easily carry it around in one hand !! With it's 4.0HP motor and it's 52lbs it's definitely the strongest portable table saw on the market right now !! Bosch also offers on board accessories storage for rip fence, Smart Guard, miter gauge, push stick and wrenches for easy transportation !! One feature that would set this table saw apart from all the others is the capability to support up to a 8 inch diameter, 1/2 inch dado stack !! Even though it can't quite rip a sheet of plywood in half, this saw can still make up to 18 inches cuts with the accuracy of his Square Lock rip fence system !! So if you want power, portability and precision this table saw could just be what you were looking for !!
#3 Dewalt
With this table saw Dewalt have redefined portability without compromising power and accuracy !! With it's 45lbs I think that they've set a new standard in lightweight power tools !! On board storage also make transportation of the push stick, miter gauge and wrenches very easy !! The extremely accurate and sturdy rip fence allows the user to rip a piece of material from 5 inches and 1/16 to 16 inches with the same ease and precision !! The miter gauge is not made of aluminium and could be a little wider, but on the other hand the motor is very powerful !! I've had the chance to try this table saw and I can tell that if you don't mind compromising the rip capacity this table saw can honestly rip a piece of material with a precision down to the millimeter !!

Even though they were not part of my Top 3 Favorites, here are some other great table saw that I would suggest to anybody who wan't to buy his own table saw because they offer all theses great features without the high price tag of a professional tool !!
